Next Gen Intern Description
Job Title: Next Gen Intern
Reports To: Next Gen Pastor/Next Gen Administrator
A. Job Objective
To facilitate expanding New Song’s mission of reaching unchurched people for Christ and helping people become fully devoted followers of Christ specifically in the area of youth and young adults.
B. Qualifications
· Character above reproach.
· High energy and self-motivated.
· Culturally aware and creative.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and lead groups and teams.
· Passionate about connecting youth and parents to the church.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong people skills.
· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and some knowledge in service production suites (Pro Presenter).
· Ability to work with Pastoral Staff to assist in executing the church’s vision for the youth ministry.
· Ability to develop strong relationships with congregates.
· Endorse and support New Song’s mission, vision, values, and statement of faith.
· Remain a member in good standing of New Song Community Church.
· Spiritual gifts in leadership and teaching preferred.
C. Responsibilities
· General
o Manage and encourage dynamic teams of staff and volunteers.
o Build relationships with the larger church community and be an ambassador for the ministries of focus.
· Youth
o Develop and implement creative and exciting Next Gen (MOSAIC/YA) programs and environments.
o Provide a safe and secure environment where Next Gen feel free to grow in Christ.
o Plan and conduct weekly services and groups.
o Serve as primary Sunday morning middle school teacher.
o Develop student leaders that help lead Next Gen ministry and impact ministries in and around New Song.
o Partner with a public school on-campus activity or club to build relationships with non-churched youth.
o Assist in planning special events that foster spiritual and personal growth such as a winter retreat, summer missions experience, or others.
o Follow up with new middle and high school students, as well as those who have fallen through the cracks.
· Young Adults
o Develop and implement creative and effective Young Adults (YA) ministry programs and environments.
o Plan and conduct gatherings, services, or groups for YAs.
o Provide care, growth, and leadership for YAs.
o Create pathways for YAs to reach their peers for Christ.
o Follow up with new YAs, as well as those who have fallen through the cracks.
· Other duties as assigned by the Next Gen Pastor or Executive Pastor.
D. Expectations
· Hours
o Attend weekly Next Gen staff team meetings.
o Attend all Mosaic volunteer meetings.
o Work with Next Gen Pastor to set office hours and ministry hours which shall equal 20 per week.

· Reports to the Next Gen Pastor.
· Oversees all Next Gen (MOSAIC/YA) and relevant staff.
