Covid-19 Update for New Song
Thursday, March 19th, 3:00pm
Hey everybody I want you to know that I’m praying with you and for you and for your families and your protection during this wild time. Ecclesiastes 3 says to everything there is a season, and who could have anticipated this kind of season, but I want to give you just a brief update on 7 changes that you need to know about and ask you to check back here on Thursday because we’ll update everything as we figure out more details on stuff from there, but just briefly based on the directive the government has given us we’re switching to solely online services for the time being this weekend will hold six of them at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday then 7, 9, 11am and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and again we’ll give you more details on that and a link to that on Thursday.
Here’s what’s going on with the rest of the church our Mosaic Youth will be doing some online things too and our Promisedland will be providing a boatload of resources for your children during this time when they’re at home and probably you’re at home and you want to continue to pour spiritual goodness into them. Our Life Groups are going to be on hiatus starting tomorrow night which is March 18th you can meet as a group until then after that we’re asking that you move to a decentralized format either using Zoom, Skype or FaceTime or something like that. We’re going to, number four, institute a care calling system. Our goal is to continue to grow together in our bonds as a church and so over the next week or so we hope to set up a care calling system where every person who calls New Song home will get a call every week where they’re encouraged and they’re prayed for if they’ve got needs. We’ll know about that and be able to help if we can and if you’d like to participate in that contact my assistant Dee at email@example.com.
The fifth thing I want you to know is that our Friday prayer meeting that was scheduled for this week to pray about Easter is moved to 6:00 p.m. and it’s moved online. I hope a lot of you will participate. we’re not just gonna pray for Easter we’re gonna pray for our country and our world and again we’re gonna do an online. I’ll tell you the platform on Thursday so check back here for that and then maybe the most important thing number six is I’m gonna start sending you a daily email with encouragement a scripture updates on the church and what God’s up to and I’m going to post that on our Facebook Friends group, so if you’re not able to receive emails from me currently because you’re not already getting them or if you’re not in our Facebook friends group there are links just below this to both of those. Click to sign up for those. Again, number 7, check back here on Thursday afternoon. I’ll try and post a more extensive video and full text so that you can know all of our plans which are very tentative but all of our plans for the short-term future of 3 or 4 weeks. However long this coronavirus quarantine lasts. Let me say this to you Psalm 23:4 says even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil because you the Lord like Shepherd are with me you prepare a table before me you go before me in the presence of my enemies my cup overflows. So trust in God during this time and know that we as a church are here for you if you want to call let me somebody pray with you, if you need some help if we can we’d like to help with those and check back here on Thursday for a full update on all the details check your email as well. God bless you. I love you.
